About Pyne, Pipe, and Cross
Hello and welcome!
I’m the Pyne of Pyne, Pipe, and Cross. GK Chesterton once said “In Catholicism, the pipe, the pint, and the Cross all fit together.” It was one of Chesterton’s many gifts that he was able to see heaven in the ordinary. The Faith wasn’t merely something regulated to morning worship on a Sunday, but permeated all aspects of Life. And Christendom wasn’t merely an imposing force exerted upon the world, but indeed made the whole Cosmos “just right,” from the tiniest tadpole to the largest galaxy. “For the universe is a single jewel, and while it is a natural cant to talk of a jewel as peerless and priceless, of this jewel it is literally true. This cosmos is indeed without peer and without price: for there cannot be another one,” he states in Orthodoxy.
In this alienated world of ours, it is sometimes difficult to even perceives ourselves as integral parts of this Grand Story, or worse, ourselves as the only drama worth considering. My writing in Pyne, Pipe, and Cross hopes to engage in the former. Join me!
